Berlin Markets (Berlin, Germany)

Berlin MarketsFull of character and real life, Berlin's busy markets are an integral part of local life. They provide a great place to find bargains or just browse around the wide variety of stalls and enjoy the exciting atmosphere and local market banter.

Goods may include clothes, antiques, flowers, books, food, and much, much more. Berlin's bustling markets provide a fun way to shop, for both experienced and novice bargain hunters alike. Visiting the marketplaces is highly recommended for tourists in the day and also later at night, when they become some of Berlin's key social locations, being full of pubs and bars.

Arkonaplatz - Arkonaplatz, Mitte 10435 Berlin
The Arkonaplatz is set in Mitte, which has become a trendy part of Berlin. This flea market offers many stalls with a wide range of clothing, furniture, house accessories and general collectibles. There are also some great cafés if you need to take a break from bargain hunting.
Open: Sunday 10:00 to 16:00

Arminius Markthalle - Arminiusstrasse 2, Tiergarten, Turmstrasse, Berlin
The Arminius Market is the best of three remaining historical market halls and has been housed in this red and yellow brick building since 1891. It can be easily reached by taking a few steps west of the Turmstrasses station and turning right into Jonasstrasse. The market hall is on the corner with Arminiustrasse and sells a wide variety of goods.

Berliner Kunst- und Nostalgiemarkt - Am Kupfergraben, Berlin

Boghagener Platz - 10245 Berlin - Friedrichshain, Berlin
This flea market is well worth a visit. It was started in 1999 by a group of locals that wanted to sell some items that they no longer needed - and has grown from here. There are not usually professional traders here and the items on sale are very varied - and very cheap.
Open: Sunday 11:00 to 18:00

Heidestr. - Heidestr. 10, Berlin - Tiergarten, Berlin
Located in old railway storage sheds, this small undercover flea market specialises in antiques, general collectibles, furniture, china, records, books and even toy model cars. Although it is open until early evening, many of the traders pack up in the afternoon and so it is best to arrive early to find the bargains.
Open: Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 18:00

Moritzplatz - Moritzplatz , 10969 Berlin - Kreuzberg, Berlin
With low prices and plenty of bargains, the Moritzplatz market is a collection of second-hand clothing, books, records and many other things. Although there may be some finds, you will probably have to search hard to locate them.
Open: Saturday and Sunday 08.00 to 16.00

The Turkish Market (Türkenmarkt) - Maybachufer, Kreuzberg, Berlin
This is a great market for fresh fruit and vegetables, which are always good quality and usually the prices are the lowest in the city. With large market halls, the Turkish Market also offers a wide range of meat and dairy produce, fish, organic produce, freshly baked bread and also fabrics and household goods.
Open: Tuesday and Friday 12:00 to 18:30
